About

reading to kids at the Hailey Head Start programThe Kiwanis Club of Hailey and the Wood River Valley was chartered on September 21, 2005 with 30 members. Each year our club gives hundreds of hours of service back to our community. Since we were chartered, we have instituted a number of ongoing programs to benefit kids in the Wood River Valley. We provide leadership opportunities to high school students through our Key Club at the Wood River High School. Each year, with the help of our generous community, we gather coats and other winter garments for children and families in need. Our club members have responded to numerous requests for emergency aid, have donated elementary school supplies to teachers, read over 1590 stories and distributed over 6400 books to children in the various reading events and programs, and have given ongoing support for the Papoose Pancake Wagon Days breakfast. We are continuously working to place new structures and enhance old playground equipment in parks for families throughout our area.

Our club is a host club for the UT/ID District Governor. We have earned the Kiwanis International Hixon Award for Service and are a designee for the Kiwanis International Distinguished Club Award.

Join us at our Lunch meetings held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at DL Evans Bank (Hailey) and Zoom is also available.  Meeting time is at 11:30 am.  Please join us – see what we are up to.

THE KIWANIS MISSION

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.

THE KIWANIS VISION

Kiwanis will be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.

KIWANIS SERVICE

Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Members stage approximately 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families and projects. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.

A FAMILY OF SERVANT LEADERS

Kiwanis clubs focus on changing the world by serving children, one child and one community at a time. To reach more people and have a greater service impact on their communities, many clubs sponsor a Kiwanis family club — K-Kids for primary school children; Builders Clubs for adolescents; Key Clubs for teens; Circle K clubs for university students and Aktion Clubs for adults living with disabilities.
